In-Home Lifestyle Maternity Session with Britt and her Family

Photography isn’t just pretty pictures. It’s story-telling. An in-home lifestyle maternity session like this is especially good at getting to the details of the stories of a family – showing the roots. This family’s stories are woven through their home, through the giggles echoing through the hallways, their boots on the front porch – muddied from playing in the pasture. These photographs are an homage to the life they’ve built together in their little farmhouse, and to the new life they are so patiently waiting to welcome into their home.

The Family

We told four large stories and a million micro-stories during the hour or two that I spent with the Kubicki’s. We started with their full family unit. Story time is a mainstay for them. A way to bring everyone together when the rolling hills of their country property offer a million different places for each of them to be. Story time merges their focus, their giggles, and gets everyone in cuddling range.

Parent and Children

It’s amazing how, even tight knit families, have extremely unique individual relationships with each other. The group dynamic is different from the partner dynamic, the sibling dynamic, and the parent/child dynamic. Each parent has their own beautiful bond with their babies. We wanted to make sure that we highlighted that – especially moving into a time when a new baby will be joining the family and everyone’s time will feel a little shorter for a little while. We wanted to honor their life now before we move into the beautiful newness that is a new baby.

Couple

Of course. This is where it starts. This is the love that built a family. That built a life for these little souls to thrive in.

Mama and New Baby

While you’re pregnant your relationship with yourself becomes so much more intense. Your body is performing miracles and you are simply along for the ride. A mama’s relationship with herself, with her new pregnant body, and with her sweet growing baby is amazing.
