The Dreamiest Space for your next Portrait Session

Oh the studio. There really aren’t many photography studios in Murfreesboro, TN, so being able to offer this to my clients makes my heart so happy.

It’s the latest addition to the location options available to you as my client, and let me just say, it is a dream. In this post I’ll be giving you a run down of what the studio looks like, what the amenities are, and a list of pros and cons to using the studio to help you decide if it’s the right location for you.

To be honest, the studio has been a dream of mine for a long time. I absolutely adore in-home lifestyle sessions and outdoor sessions, but I’m an artist at heart and I LOVE the blank slate of a studio. The creative options are endless!  There really aren’t many photography studios in Murfreesboro, TN, so being able to offer this to my clients makes my heart so happy.

 

 

Let me tell you what it looks like. Ethereal, soft white light filling a wide open space. Bright floors, white walls, and high ceilings give the studio an expansive feeling. A wall of windows draped with sheer curtains allows beautiful light to reach every corner of the studio. A doorway at the back of the room leads to a little private changing area and a bathroom, as well as a vanity mirror and wardrobe rack. When you arrive you’ll find the studio set up as we’ve planned – maybe a cozy bedroom set – maybe a greenhouse vibe with plants and rattan and jute rugs – maybe  florals hanging from the ceiling. Regardless – you’ll enter into a studio space I’ve created just for you. It’s photography studio perfection.

 

The Pros and Cons of the Photography Studio in Murfreesboro

Let’s start with the pros.

Location Location Location

Murfreesboro is pretty big. In fact it’s a sprawling city, so a quick Google search of “photography studios in Murfreesboro TN” could land you in all kinds of places. We all know familiarity and ease are important and that is one of the areas where my new studio shines. The studio is in downtown Murfreesboro! This means easy to find! Easy parking! It means coffee shops and cafes around the corner! It means you’re a hop and a skip away from The Greenway, Kids Corner indoor play space, and The Discovery Center. You can come have an amazing session, and then head out to any one of these awesome places to make a day of it.

 

Amenities

Don’t get me wrong – a waterfall in the background of your pictures is undeniably beautiful. But so is having a bathroom when you’re 32 weeks pregnant and have too pee NOW. One of the most awesome things about having your session in the photography studio in Murfreesboro is that you have access to all the amenities of a studio. A bathroom, a private changing space, a couch to hang out on. Did I mention space to spread out, put your stuff down out of the way, space for snacks and drinks, a wardrobe rack to hang extra clothing options, a vanity mirror to touch up your makeup. The studio boasts a fan for hot summer days so you can get some immediate relief when you walk in the air conditioned studio space, and a space heater for EXTRA warmth on colder winter days.

 

Not Weather Restricted

Let’s get real…Tennessee weather is kind of ridiculous. Especially in the past couple of years. One minute it’s a balmy summer day, the next minute it’s snowing! That can make scheduling outdoor portrait sessions HARD for busy families that need to know their schedule well in advance. The studio solves that pain point for you! Rain in the forecast? NO PROBLEM! 90 degree temperatures? Let’s stay cool indoors please and thank you. Chilly outside and your toddler is going to have a meltdown about it? The studio is warm and toasty. Talk about dependability!

 

No Cleaning!

In-home lifestyle sessions are really cozy and lovely – but they also put some of the responsibility on your shoulders. While you don’t have to deep clean before an in-home session, it is usually advisable to pick up a bit, and sometimes that’s just not stress you need added to your plate. If you choose to schedule your session for the photography studios in Murfreesboro, you won’t have to lift a finger when it comes to cleaning.

Prior to every session I mop the floors, make sure every blanket, cushion, and prop are clean and sanitized, and arrange everything we need to perfection. All you have to do is show up and step into the frame.

 

Creative options are endless

I’m honestly obsessed with the creative blank slate that is the studio. I’m an artist and I love creating, so I have about a million and one ideas for sets in the studio and I can’t wait to combine my vision with my client’s visions to create something truly unique and special. In many studios, the set up is relatively permanent. My studio is different! We can change things out in the blink of an eye to make a completely unique look just for you.

In the studio we have the option of creating a home-like environment with all the perfectly curated details. Like the bedroom of your DREAMS or the coziest living space you’ve ever seen. All without you having to purchase extra things for your home or do any extra cleaning or rearranging.

We can create super modern portraits with color block backdrops.

My personal favorite? Floral sets! Flowers hanging from the ceiling? Yes please. Boho vases and pots filled with dried grasses and flowers? Absolutely.

It’s just a creative’s dream space and I would love to talk with you and see what we can dream up.

 

Privacy

I am ALL FOR breastfeeding openly and proudly. Women’s bodies are amazing and powerful and I don’t believe in hiding them or censoring them. That said – I know not everyone wants to be OUT THERE all the time and sometimes, you just need a little bit of privacy to feel comfortable and really foster genuine, intimate connections with your babies without feeling watched or judged by random passersby.

I haven’t toured all the other photography studios in Murfreesboro, TN, but my new studio is private and offers you that quiet, personal space. It will only be us present (us being you and your family and me and my *female* assistant). You can feel comfortable to nurse your baby, change your clothes, change kiddos diapers, and anything else you’d like a little personal space for. While the studio does have a large wall of windows – rest assured they are covered with a white diffuser that lets in beautiful light but provides total privacy from anyone walking by outside.

 

 

Moving to the Cons for my new photography studio in Murfreesboro…I’ll be honest – there aren’t many.

It’s not outside. I guess we can can out this as a con if you were DESPERATE for an outdoor session? But honestly that wouldn’t happen because if you wanted an outdoor session I would make it happen.

 

It’s not as personal as your own home. This is true just because it ISN‘T your home. If you want it to be THAT personal – well then an in-home lifestyle session is where it’s at for us!
